SACE General English programmes are designed to improve students’ English language communication skills to prepare for future study, work, travel or career change.
Core classes concentrate on developing grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, writing & pronunciation skills in real-life situations.
Afternoon classes, “Special Studies”, allow students to specialise and choose one or two Special Studies from a wide range of Special Studies options.

IELTS Exam Preparation Course is offered at the Melbourne College of English (SACE Melbourne), South Australian College of English (SACE Adelaide), Tasmanian College of English (SACE Hobart) and the Whitsundays College of English (SACE Whitsundays).
SACE IELTS Preparation Course is a full‐time course to prepare students for the IELTS Examination or for Direct Entry to TAFE or SACE English for Tertiary Studies II.
This is also for students wanting to take the IELTS Test.

Overview
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is an official English proficiency test recognised by Australian universities, colleges and the Australian Government. PTE provides an alternative English test for non‐native English speakers who require a recognised English proficiency assessment for tertiary study in Australia, future employment or for the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
The SACE PTE Academic Preparation course is a 20 hour per week course which provides students with an introduction and preparation for the PTE Academic examination. The course includes study of the four macro skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing) as relevant to this examination. The course also includes a study skill and examination practice component to assist students to practice and prepare for the PTE Academic examination.

Overview
The Cambridge Examination Course (Flexible Entry) provides FCE and CAE Preparation for students requiring flexible course start and finish dates.
Full‐time courses, 25 hours per week
- Upper‐Intermediate / FCE course
- Advanced / CAE course
- Mornings: Upper‐Intermediate / FCE Advanced / CAE and classes will work from a Cambridge Preparation course textbook.
Study will include the Speaking, Reading, Writing, Listening and Grammar skills. - Afternoons: Students will have a choice of Special Studies including Special Studies focusing on Cambridge Skill
