About Intensive English Language Institute (IELI)
The Intensive English Language Institute, or IELI, has a reputation for academic integrity and excellence in a fun environment. We are committed to challenging students to achieve their best, both with English language and cultural and personal growth. IELI prepares students to study and work at their highest potential in Australian universities and workplaces.
At IELI, students can study English at their own pace, and study in the right class for their level in communication, Listeing and Reading and Writing. This means if a student is able to speak well but not listen, he or she may be placed in a higher class for Communication and a lower class for Listening. IELI has two locations: IELI City (since 2016), and IELI, on the campus of Flinders University (since 1995).
Flinders University enjoys a well-justified reputation for its excellence in teaching and research. It has a longstanding
commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for all and a proud record of community engagement. The beautiful campus has sweeping views across the entire city and the beaches of Adelaide.
IELI City is situated just 300 metres from the heart of the city centre, Victoria Square. IELI City is a building perfectly set up for language learning. Opened in January 2016, IELI City offers students a choice of where to learn English using the IELI method.

Overview
Students can combine general English improvement with personalised study in their professional area. This course is ideal for participants who want to improve their language skills, but also want to improve their knowledge of English in their chosen field in Australia, to bring back to their work in their home country.
In this program, the participants will join regular general, academic or health English classes at IELI for 16 hours per week. They will also work with an IELI teacher to formulate a research question and complete a professional project. This project will include library research, but IELI will also assist the participant in arranging interviews and site visits to help them gain first-hand knowledge of their chosen topic. Participants will create a written report and a presentation on their topic which they can take back and share with colleagues.
